Rabi’a

One of the most beloved stories about Rabi’a, the early female Sufi, has her roaming the streets of Basra carrying a bucket of water and a flaming torch, ready to put out the fires of Hell and set fire to the gardens of Paradise so that people will worship God for the sake of Love alone. – Oxt and Hus.
